Little Update...

Hi everyone. I've been extremely busy the past couple of weeks with my business. I finally have a couple of minutes to let you know what's been going on with the house.

We're back working on the hallway. We painted it a nice pale neutral color called "Southern Shadow" I love the color. It's a really nice calm color. It will be the most used color in the house as it will extend all the way down the stairway covering that large wall. I like that it is very soft and sort of 'barely there' It looks very clean. It will still offer contrast against the white trim. I chose the color ultimately because I wanted that large wall to be very understated and soft. I also wanted our narrow hallway to feel airy and light, but still cozy. I think this color is perfect to pull that off.

As far as finishing the hallway, I've had one set-back with the drawer faces of the linen cabinet. They were sanded to be very smooth, but being that the cabinet is one of the first things that you see when you come up the stairs, I decided that I now want to take the time to strip them and re-paint them which will make them look much smoother. So today I will probably be applying the stripper to them and letting that sit for a few hours.

Additionally, I will need to sand and repaint the shelves that go inside the cabinet.

Lastly, the inside and outside of the cabinet will be painted with ultra pure white satin as well as all the trimwork in the rest of the hallway.

Then I will be able to reattach the drawer pulls that I will be cleaning up with some tarnish remover.
